2004 Shoot Out for Prostate Cancer

On Monday June 21, 2004 The Allegheny Prostate Center, in cooperation with The Western Pennsylvania Prostate Cancer Foundation, sponsored the fifth annual Shoot Out for Prostate Cancer, a golf and sport shooting event to benefit prostate cancer awareness, patient education, and research. This popular annual event was attended by 160 golfers, shooters, volunteers, and other supporters. Participants enjoyed lunch, golf or shooting (trap, skeet, and sporting clay), games, dinner, a silent auction, and a program with many prizes. Master of Ceremonies Bob Pompeani of KDKA TV2 adds excitement to this fun filled day, all for the benefit of patients, both present and future, with prostate cancer.

Sponsors of this event included The Pittsburgh Pirates, KDKA TV2, Oncura, Inc., Allegheny General Hospital, Quest Diagnostics, Highmark, Imagraphics, Siemens Medical, Bayer, Triangle Urology, and many others.

The Shoot Out for Prostate Cancer, along with its sister event The Father's Day Ride and Stride, brought in over $60,000 in total. The monies raised support the mission of the Allegheny Prostate Center (www.prostatecancercare.com,) and the Western Pennsylvania Prostate Cancer Foundation.
